Still Within Therapy is a virtual therapy practice offering online sessions for adults residing in Utah and Idaho.
About
Hi, I’m Brie Gonzalez (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and relational trauma therapist.
I work with adults facing anxiety, complex trauma, or a painful relationship with food and their body, to help them feel safer in themselves, rebuild self-trust, and reconnect with who they are. Many of my clients are the ones others rely on... thoughtful and caring, yet often overwhelmed or stuck in people-pleasing, self-doubt, or disconnection. My approach is gentle, collaborative, LGBTQ+ affirming, and grounded in a feminist and multicultural lens. Together, we move toward healing your relationship to yourself and others. I believe healing happens in connection and am committed to creating a connective space with you in our work.
I draw from EMDR, somatic, and attachment-based approaches, and I'm currently training in the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), a relational and trauma-informed model that supports healing from Complex PTSD. My work centers on helping adults cultivate deeper self-understanding leading to greater self-worth and more fulfilling relationships.
I know how hard it can be to reach out, especially when you’re used to carrying so much on your own. Therapy doesn’t have to be harsh or overwhelming. Together, we’ll move at a pace that honors your story, gently untangling what’s been weighing you down. You deserve to feel more at home in your life. I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
Outside of the work I love, you can usually find me out in nature - whether on skis, a bike, or simply soaking in the beauty of the Utah landscape. I deeply value movement, fresh air, and the grounding that comes from being outdoors. On a good rest day, you’ll probably catch me binge-watching a favorite show or curled up with a book. I also love going to concerts and arts events, getting creative with crafts, and refurbishing old furniture in my spare time.
The name Still Within comes from my belief that we all carry the capacity for connection, healing, and regulation – not outside of us, but within. This is part of our human nature.
When we grow up facing relational, social, or environmental challenges, we can lose touch with our internal sense of safety and the ability to soothe or trust ourselves. But that inner wisdom doesn’t disappear, it often just gets buried under layers of protection.
My hope is that therapy becomes a space where we gently begin to uncover and reconnect with what is still (and always has been) within you.

Why “Still Within”?
The Meaning Behind the Logo
My logo was inspired by the natural imagery of tree rings - a symbol of growth, resilience, and the wisdom held within our bodies. Tree rings mark the passage of time and all the seasons we've survived. To me, they also resemble ripples in water, representing how one person’s healing can create a widening impact.
When we leave therapy feeling more connected to ourselves, that sense of resonance often flows outward… into our relationships, our communities, and beyond. Your healing doesn’t end with you; it gently invites others into connection too.
The leaf in the design reflects new growth and beginnings, while also honoring the importance of rest and dormancy. Just like in nature, our quieter seasons hold value and purpose too.
Together, these elements represent what I hope therapy offers: a return to what’s still within, and a gentle unfolding of what’s ready to grow.
